description:
I continue to be
interested in the many ways that gestures (physical, facial, sonic,
social) inform our awareness of the world around us. Without relying on
verbal language, a shrug, a sigh, a grimace or nod can speak volumes.
We all know this. YesNo takes
this as its starting point - a set of gestures that link sight and
sound in their own private little conspiracy. My main job as a
composer/performer is tampering with the evidence. |

The work
makes use of a live video-based motion tracking system that
drives an interactive sonic environment and a computer controlled
spotlight. The work was premiered as a part of "A Theater of Sound: Intermedia Performance Works by David Bithell" at the Dallas Museum of Art on February 19, 2010. |
